The Brian Mutebi Dream Scholarship

The Brian Mutebi Dream Scholarship Fund is the first scholarship scheme in Africa for survivors of gender based violence (GBV) and teenage mothers. In Uganda, 1 in every 4 girls between 15-19 years of age, according to the Uganda Health Demographic Survey, is either pregnant or had a baby. Such girls are stigmatized and abandoned by their families. With only 1 in 10 able to return to school after giving birth, and GBV survivors suffering physical and emotional pain, the scholarships bestow upon them a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Scholarships are also awarded to orphaned children, and other special groups of vulnerable girls such as those living with disabilities, they who are often rejected by society. The Scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, living allowance, scholastic materials and discipleship.
